but mum'll be coming 2ml...

- -|.. sian..

inevitable. haix...

here's the most interesting menu i've seen..

there's poem attached to each dish. wow. and all look great please. delicious too..

its called "my humble house" recommended by my fren.. it is supposed to be in chinese which says 寒舍 the very polite way of addressing one's home

we're in this eh.. i guess its the study. and the sofa is topped with fur =s

its the living room on the back ground i suppose. with a mini fountain.

the shelf of art works beside us looked like this..

Thursday, July 23, 2009

wow...

okay . i appreciate this more than the solar thing.. especially in beijing that you cant see the sun...

pollution left this city nearly 4/5 of the time in smog..

at 4 pm today, the sky turned dark. and for a moment i thought all my clocks has stopped...

its a storm. and its like nothing in singapore. cos over there the day just don't turn into night because of the storm.. at one moment i thought it was solar eclipse all over again so i was like wtf...

moments later the sky begin to brighten up..

and the sky was clear.. like very clear. visibility at an all time high.

the simple pleasures in life..

oh well. i loved it.

i went to queue up for a train ticket today for the first time in my life. its an outlet.. so apparently they only start selling tickets 10 days before the day of departure.. and they only begin their sales at 7PM

so i went 10 minutes before.. according to the person at the counter. there'll be a queue...

well. i made it to the 2nd in the queue. and the first person demanded 3 tickets...

the person at the counter processed it for him and printed the tickets out.. one ticket magically went m issing in the process of printing the 3 tickets.. so she searched up and down for it

before she could find anything. her phone rang. and she chatted happily for 15 minutes. as the queue grew longer...

at 7: 20. i managed to get my turn and she told me all tickets has ran out. i asked if i can purchase another type of ticket the next morning and if it will likely be available. she gave me the pissed off face and said that she can only tell me what she can see now.

fuck it

god damn service industry of china's public transport

on my way back.. this is what the storm did to the trees.

interesting advertisement for gum.

hmm.. solar eclipse?

u know.. i nvr figure out what's the big fuss about this thing..

okay i have to say it looks good. and its rare.

so what.

rare stuff happen everyday. so does pretty stuff.

like. rainbows. like. leaf falling off the tree.

i mean. beauty is all around so long as we notice it. and appreciate it

so what if the moon blocked the sun - -|.. that gathered billions of people stare in amusement at the TV or up into the sky..

where what i think its of similar value happens around them that went unnoticed..

bleah. grow up ppl. this is not the proper way to treasure.

talks.

Re: people's attire.

i was in the park with cousin and grandma. we were having this conversation regarding people's attire. like knowing how to dress properly and stuff..

there's this hot girl with a huge bag and this huge groundsheet in it sticking out.

so i was like

"hey that girl looks great.. just a wrong bag. i guess"

my cousin was like.

"yeah, i guess, eh her cloth is translucent.... and.. hmm i can't see anything in there [from the back] "

"eh!? "

then moments later she walked infront of us and i was like

"hey i can see it! its yellow!"

it was all in chinese and my grandma was like

"- -|"

moments later at the dining table.

we begun talking about the relationship between a mother in law and daughter in law.

cos. well

my grandma doesn't get along well with all her son's wife.. although they are very nice people.

uncle once said that its somewhat a competitive relationship between the gender.. unlike guys.. lets say. son in laws and father in laws always get along well...

then once that conversation start. i start to think about my mum.. and honestly..

i'm not expecting much peace either..

we were like..

"yeah.. the relationship would be quite hard for our aunts and my grandma.. "

me: "yeah.. come to think about it.. ,my mum..."

cousin:"..."

cousin and I: " HOLY CRAP"

"..."

cousin: "...i wish you well"

me: "...omg..."

yeah.. but things will work out. ^^ i hope. i will love my wife. and i will try give her all the happiness that's within my power...

park !

say. another makeup post =x.

i went to the park yesterday.. there's a mini amusement park there. for kids.

my cousin wanna play something.. but there's our grandma with us. so its like "- -|"

as if we'll leave her alone.

but she insisted on us going into something.. so there's this 10 bucks / person / visit "haunted hse"

- -|.. fking retarded.. supposed to be "3d".. now if u wear that specs and go in all it does is make you dizzy.

and yeah.. its just walking.. and scary props? there's random leg grabbing going on.. c'mon man.. xD.. like seriously. and there's this group infront of us who.. well. got scared and dont dare to move on.. i say. they're deprived man.

just recalling those days for scream. now that's fun. xD.

@ the gym

i went to the gym today. there was a lady running.

she came over a while later and she said

"do you speak english?"

"yeah? sure, what issit?"

"i just want to thank you for being so polite just now."

and she told me that I was quiet and did not cause a disturbance.

"oh, you're welcomed, i mean, thank you, and that's what i'm supposed to do issn't it"

"well.. yeah i guess but people just don't do it."

its sad.

its just about turning down the tv's volume so that it doesn't disturb others.

and now people need to thank for that action.. because nobody do it.

yes she's polite to say such a thing and being nice and stuff.

but its sad that the society its like that. i mean. this is a 5star hotel right.

its supposed to be the civilized people that lives around here?

i wonder how bad can it get in the neighborhoods

A message to all the depressed ppl out there due to the economic down turn

well i've read it from an article

its nice so i've summarized it somehow

to those ppl out there who're depressed.

At this moment, as you read this, there are hundreds if not thousands of geeky, brilliant engineering wonks sitting in their dorm rooms at MIT and Stanford, not to mention campuses around the world, oblivious to the weather as they pour their hearts into cool new ideas.

Those kids and their ideas are the future of business if we just hang on tight
you canbe sure, too, that legions of people out there aren't frightened by the economy.

they're called the entrepreneurs [wow....] And challenges don't make them surrender; they make them fierce.

or consider that right now, in companies large and small, new and old, teams of employees are huddled in meetings, working their butts off to figure out how to save their organizations and the jobs of their coworkers.

and you can be sure that in laboratories around the world, medical researchers are putting in 18 hour days as they try to unlock the human genome and create cures beyond imagining. all of them, are motivated by a heartfelt desire to save lives. you can be sure that one day you, or someone you love, will owe them a debt of gratitude.

you can be sure that on a warm spring day, a mother and father will hold back tears as they watch the first member of their family graduate from college. you can be sure countless other parents will feel the same pride.

you can be sure that for every jerk who undermines business with his compromised ethics there are 99 decent, hard-working people who wake up everyday determined to do right.

you can be sure the 99 will prevail

you can be sure that there will be a song in radio this fall that is so catchy and fun u can't get it out of your head.

you can be sure that someday in the not-too-distant-future we will look back on this difficult time and say:"It was painful, but we've pushed hard and learnd so much that we've lowered the chances of it ever happening again."

i think its a msg to the suicidal ppl out there due to bankruptcy or smt - -| but hmm interesting =x

i've managed to chat for 3 smses!

last night!

my new sim card has finally put to some chatting purposes o. o|

i can't believe that this is what I'm blogging about. haha

oh well. eh. there are lesser pros in the arena of dota in china. so the games are easy? o. o
too many leavers thou. haix

i look forward to going out on friday. ><|. rotting at home all day aint fun at all

Hospital

i hate crowds

i dislike the idea of going to hospital healthy and get infected with something when i come out

so generally

i dislike the idea to visit a doctor in beijing

but i still went. cos grandma is worried and i dont wanna pass the flu on to her.

so i was there! apparently the place was under renovation. and yet still operating. i'm like one of the only patients there. really empty. there's only one guy that went in while i was there. it turns out he's looking for the washroom.

so the doctor tested my blood
nurse poked my finger tip with a sharp thingy to make bleed

she squeezed damn hard for damn long and only one drop came out.. we all were like = =|

"i'll have to do it again" she says.

so my other finger kena oso = =|.. and this time not much more.. so just keep squeezing.. until its enough.

= =| fine, i've got thick skin.

i dont have a problem with that when i was young!

doctor said that a speedy recovery would be dripping + some medicine

so we chose that way. apparently it costs 700 rmb or so. that would be like one month salary for a typical factory worker in non-capital cities.

getting sick, is indeed $ consuming. ppl might not even afford it - -|

oh i was made to wear a mask for the first time.

hello luke i'm ur papa.

they kinda used 4 bottles.. and all of it went into my body.. the rate of dripping is controlled.. they told me that its alright going fast but some ppl's heart can't take it..

3 of us discussed about communist in china =s.. and well.. we are all not really happy about the party =s..

i think my heart is fine.

but for
"safety concerns"
its rather slow at first

until the nurse decided that her lunch break is around the corner. then she came up to me and adjusted it.. til its like - -|.. flowing... 3 drops / second? i see that water level in those containers go down like nobody's business i was like " wtf - -|".. and my arm is feeling the immediate drop of temperature as it poured in..

it wasn't really that bad. the worst part is that grandma can't stop nagging and complaining about how irresponsible the nurse is on the trip back =s...

oh well. i might have to go back 2ml for the last drip. hopefully i'll recover by 2night so dun have to mafan ppl.

zihua and i kaobei'ed the government too. they might as well fking ban the internet usage. ban youtube ban facebook ban twitter. and obvirously there's much more sites mimicing the way those sites work, native chinese sites like youku.com, xiaonei.com.. even the layout and colourscheme are exactly the same. they dont fking ban those.

what. terrorists only know how to use international sites? kns. is this acturally protection of "local internet industry"? god damn it.

A good reason to resist nature calls

as the title show.

for a better world.
for our children.
for the future

resist the call of nature. here's why

knuckle still hurts a lil... the thing is i caught a flu. it doesn't feel very pleasant i gotta say.

some random shots of today

about my theory..

everyone is selfish. yep we are. and we're selfish to the point that we're doing nearly everything for themselves.
we make decisions before putting into action. in some cases. our actions are guided subconciously however that do not suggest that we're not responsible for such actions.

over generalization? maybe.

however. think about it. why do you care for ppl. why do you love. why do people sacrifice themselves for a greater good.

such actions seem selfless i suppose? and yes i still somewhat believe that love is not about recieving but its about giving... - -|.. i dont know how that came through thou.

oh well back to the topic.. the thing is. say. if you care for somebody. why?
first of all. how many people are willing to care about somebody if that somebody don't give a shyt about what the "carers" do? we enjoy the feeling to be appreciated don't we? how certain are you if you're caring and ur not subconciously hoping that they show appreciation or just be a more well-off person such that you, will be contributing to a greater good and be satisified with ourselves

every single action has went through our minds. and we make a decision for a reason.

on the very basic level is to fulfill our needs of survival, instincts as we call it. such actions can mean selfishness. well, cos we're doing smt for ourselves.

however. on the other level, as from young, we're thought morals, what's right and wrong, and learn something called the "greater good", social creatures. morals are built and that's how we attempt to differ ourselves from beasts. such morals are telling we're supposed to do, and deep in us we know, by making a decision that's on the basis moral, we are doing something right...

i say, we all do stuff for a cause, conciously or not, we're for ourselves, whether its just to keep ourselves alive or to die for a greater cause, we made those decisions that we think that will make us feel better. its just not logical and the command will not pass through the human mind if its for absolutely no reason.

think about it.

do not expect anyone to be responsible to our well-being, nobody owes us a living as they say. and we 're accountable for ourselves, think of everyone, as selfish creatures, and live strong, cos we're living for a blardy good reason. don't drown urself into the victim's cycle as the oz principle states, whatever happens, don't point fingers, don't blame fate. we're on our own.

we really are.

life is a blissful journey, its our own responsibility to make good of it, and we ain't living for anyone else, we really aren't that great.

i think parental guidance is neccessary for the viewing of the crap above.

peace out

4 issues.

okay i shall list them down before i forget

i wanna talk about eh..
1. i haven't had dreams since the nightmare of me taking Alevel maths paper a few month ago. and i realized i'm dreaming every night nowadays...

3. i knocked my knuckle against the door by accident and its swollen

4. God damn it give us back our facebook.

okay. i know. i should elaborate on my 3rd point but i think i'll leave it for 2ml as its rather thought provoking

Phone calls.

there were two. on my handphone. i'm using my cousin's old sim card so it was for her.

[in chinese]
"hi i'm calling from the company its about the collection of ur salary."

me: "well i'm afraid you've got the wrong number, she changed to a different one now"

"will it be convinent for you to tell me how to contact her then."

she spoke too fast = =|
i couldn really catch it until the 2nd time and she took down the number.

moments later

"hi sorry to disturb you but i couldnt reach her by her number"
me: "eh i'm afraid that she might have forgotten to bring her handphone as she told me on the msn"

"will it be convinent for you to take down the address for her?"

i'm like.. sure

so i rushed to a pen and paper...

then she start giving me the address.. 国贸大厦... smt smt smt

and i was like.. wtf how do u right MAO. then i got stuck at the 2nd word..

and i stoned for a while..

so i told her in english... all our conversation above was chinese..

"could you please give me an english version of the address?"

then she stun.
and after a short moment she's like "please hold on for a second"

and after 3 minutes of rustle.. she came back and she just spoke english into the phone
...and i'm telling you i can understand 60%. it wasn't easy... but i managed to take down the half of the address before giving up.. i'm like..

"hey, acturally chinese is fine.. i just dont know how to write them now i'm at my laptop its fine.."
and she was like

"can you understand chinese?"

= =|

i answered the phone call in chinese, twice... and how has a chinese address got to do with understanding chinese...

but oh well.. she spoke chinese.. and i realized i took down all the information necessary i just didnt know it ..

"hope you're happy at work" that's what she ended the call with...

i mean.. its in chinese.. 祝您工作愉快.. okay i think she make constant calls to employees and stuff.. its just weird to me - -|.

needless to say i'm like *stun*

"eh.. huh?.. oh!.. good day to you" *english*

i told my cousin about this and she said i might have given an awkward moment for the girl..
i was like - -|.. sorry i just need to revise my chinese spelling.

TERMINATOR``

woohoo. happy yesterday! it rained! like since finally man. it poured. and it feels great.

i told grandma that i'm going out with a friend.. my grandma starts telling me stories about how kids and adults got kidnapped and transported to mines to work to their death.. how maids sold the kids they are to look after.. in attempt in telling me how dangerous my friend might be. ...- -

she went on for 2 hours or so.

like for god's sake this is beijing. the fking capital man. there're tens of thousands of kids out there on the streets every single day... oh well.

went out with my friend and had lunch, watched terminators. i loved that place called bluecoast.. well. its in chinese. but its a great place. like a small town of shops. no cars. and all buildings are of 3 levels high and the roof is great. there's a mini musical fountain ^^

lunched at the place called "da chang jin" = =| i wasn't expecting this.. but its noisy. the waitress all dressed up in the sorta korean thingy.. similiar to changjin. but they sell stuff at the price range of 5-6 sing... the portion is big too. i can't pick my choice = =| so i asked what's not spicy and asked the waitress to recommend something. then she's like.. "what if i recommend something and it is the expensive one" and i'm quite sure there's a smirk on her face... i did flip the menu. and if i'm bad tempered then i think it will be trouble for the place. that's a direct insult issn't it = =|.. unless that waitress is trying to joke around. = =... i mean there're ppl with kids running around and shouting.. there are ppl dressed up like christmas tree and come in with a family and look as if its a great occasion to have lunch there...

we got over it fast but now thinking back its really wtf.

apparently transformers is some big stuff around.. here's why i said it o. o.... i astonished "BUMBLEBEE" and she's like.. huh... *start wondering which shop has that name and looks arnd*

movie starts 1 hr after purchasing the tickets so we went around hunting for something to play. it was a huge place and we constantly asked the person at the information counter.. its like.. "hi its us again!"

arcade is cheap. 1 dollar / token. so.. if u put it in sing. u need 40 cents to play 1 round of timecrisis 3. yeah. i realized that i'm not bad x. x| there's this drum thing fun to play but tiring.. - -|. just zam. with a lil rythum. the songs were like. eh. funny to listen to. i mean drumbeats just dont really go with slow songs.. especially not when we are desperately trying to keep up with the beat and in the process messing up - -| oh well! thats fun still xD

underestimated the travel time and reached the cinema late. i tell you. those stairs in the dark arent popcorn friendly. = =|.

the movie er... pack a little surprise. it was kinda interesting. it wasn't as interesting as transformer 2 i think interms of action. although the latter is a lil messy. but the storyline wins it. yepp.

the hall is like the auditorium sorta seats... there's even the pen stopper in place =s. but there's sufficient space.. and audio system thats a lil too good.

movie ended and we walked around while waiting for her dad to come pick her up. the roof is windy and comes with a great view. its like living in a little town there. thunders sound occasionally and the wind is great. here's what all looked like from my point of view.. i loved the place. seriously. thankyou to whoever developed it. its just so peaceful. its not a good thing for the shopowners but hey. xD. its perhaps the least populated shopin' centre arnd in beijing...

my friend kept telling me that i sound too old when i said i loved this style of things.

when her dad called and we went into the mall looking for the way to the basement.. it started to pour. wind gushed open those closed doors and woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RAIN!!!!!...

enjoyed it for a while then went on to search for the way.. there's a lift we saw. cargo lift thou.. we were like.. hmm... OKAY LETS GO. then there's this rule list in the lift.. right the first one. "no unauthorized personel / authorized personel with no cargo allowed" ... well its in chinese we were like.. "- -|.. oops"..

"okay i know."
"lets plan this."
"we're tourists and we cant read chinese"
i said.
"alright. yeah. i cant read chinese. ><"

oh well. nobody saw us when we came out so that wasn't necessary xD there..

the shops are in the sorta ancent style sorta town's outlook.. but what's under it.. is a hugeeeeeee underground carpark. its numbered alphabetically from A to F. with numbers behind the alphebet. lets just say we ended up in F and we had to find A. where her dad is going to give me a lift home. and we took the shortest route. walked for 15 minutes at decent pace before reaching A.. and her dad used 10 minutes wondering around in zone A trying to find us.

we stood beside this.. i really dont know where this thing is manufactured.. it looked like this. and there's no chinese on it!
oh well. great day @ a great place!! i shall go there again next time. ><

ALRIGHT! TRANSFORMERS!

I remembered black skies, the lightning all around me
I remembered each flash as time began to blur
Like a startling sign that fate had finally found me

gaga

well went to catch this. its really expansive here in beijing. and the theatre is damn small.. 80 rmb / ticket . so essentially it will be around 16 sing? i didn't get to watch transformers 1 so i seriously dont know what's good and what's bad.

but i do know that this is kinda messy.. i mean the graphics roll fast.. when they fight i find it hard to catch who is who.. and how did some die so easily where others dont die at all.. and was the humans even useful at all - - not in the beginning when they just casually die like flies and do no harm ..

oh well maybe i'm expecting too much!

service at ajisen in beijing really CMI. = =|. we've to wait 20 minutes for a setmeal and another 10 minutes for an dessert.. how bad can you get seriously.

i took beijing's mrt for the first time. my cousin told me there will be a different setting in different lanes of mrt in beijing.. i thought he was exaggerating the stereotype. but he wasn't i saw it. the 10thlane that leads to where i live was rather quiet and clean.. its all fine. once i've changed to the "1st" lane. which is essentially one of the oldest mrt lane's there is. there're ppl who scream in the phone.. perhaps their newfound gadget of display and takes seats.. shout over the shoulders and calls for the friend and relative to take the seat they've snatched - -|... and i've witnessed the huge crowd there is.. in the junction of the transit of mrt.. there are ppl.. like.. hundreds of them.. like PEOPLE!!!!

it is the time when u realize that we're really over populated = =

the first day that i didn't make it

hey man.. this is a make up post. >< cos ystd i wasn't able to come online due to unforeseen circumstances.. however i'd still like to keep this tradition of a post / a day for my blog incase i go down a slippery slope and abandon my blog again T. T lets recall ,.....................

ARHHH headache.. - - i forgot what did i want to talk about.. i think i'm getting old and stuff... i cant rmbr things well anymore... fine my cousin came around and we crapped pretty much. watched some interesting videos on soccer and played cards.. we were kind of lucky and beat the other pair to the ground xD....

played a little dota game at night cos web just refused to work

randomed to naga siren. it was easy. against ai = =|. damn no life. but there issnt much entertainment for me and my cousin after midnight OH i rmbr. here i did say that i live in a condo right. i mean. gong yu is supposed to be condo right...

but this doesn't look very condo-ish to me unless there's a 5-star kinda condo - -.. and thats weird.

here. spot the missing numbers. and i'm sure u know why.

however i wonder what's in those floors.. i mean when u look up a building u tend to see windows in every level.. so what's going on in there?

eeeheheheheeeeeee

which one...

wow it might just rain today!

dont call me somebody with no life. i'm just appreciating simple pleasures in life.

xD

i'm given another wallet.. which one should i use.. = =|

1st. the one i've used for a few days.

2nd one. its huge = =| but more organized with more card slots

...uncle gave me something for my luggage.. and it looks like this.. i like it . seriously. but i'm afraid that if i use it i'll get bashed up for soiling the name..
